Study Wagner's Tannhäuser
Take your German Diction to the next level under the guidance of our expert diction coach, Mariella Baier, and learn roles, scenes, or arias in Wagner's Tannhäuser.
Working as part of a group, we will begin by reading through the whole libretto, each taking turns to deliver lines, concentrating on our pronunciation and interpretation, as well as understanding what is being said. Then, each artist will work individually with Mariella, developing and practicing their skills. In the middle of the week, we join back together for a character development class, followed by a lecture and discussion on the origins and history of the opera. Finally, at the end of the week, we return to full group sessions, for a performance workshop, where everyone gets the opportunity to sing scenes and arias together.
